Manuel  Nogueira
Manuel Nogueira, 71, of New Britain passed away Friday, September 25, 2015 at John Dempsey Hospital. Born in Portugal, he had lived in Wethersfield for many years. He served in the Portuguese Military stationed in Angola. After moving to the United States, he proudly became a citizen. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford, was an avid hunter and loved soccer.
Prior to his retirement, Manuel was employed at Kessler Construction Co. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lizete and Todd May of Berlin; his former wife Maria Nogueira of Berlin; a brother, Vasco de Jesus of Hartford; five grandchildren, Chase and Reagan May, Jessica and Amanda Stewart and Claudette Nogueira and many nieces and nephews. Manuel was predeceased by a son, Rui Manuel Nogueira and a brother, Avelino Tavares. Funeral procession will be Monday,( September 28), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10:00 am in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford, Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Sunday (September 27) from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home. A Seven Day Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, (October 1) at 7:00 pm at the Church.
