Manuel M.  Durao
Manuel M. Durao, 57, of Ellington, beloved husband of Valgerdur "Val" (Arnadottir) Durao, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hartford, son of the late Rosa and Alvaro Durao, he was a resident of Ellington for many years. Manuel had been employed at IBM and recently at United Healthcare and he honorably served four years in the U. S. Air Force. He was an avid reader and a soccer fan. Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Rosa, Keith and Danielle Durao of Ellington; two brothers, Ramiro Durao of Newington and Jose Durao of Portugal and a sister Beatrice Butler of Ellington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, (March 25), 10:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Kane St., Hartford. Everyone is requested to meet at the Church. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours will be Friday, (March 24), from 5 to 8 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford.
