William A.  Turley Sr.
William A. Turley, Sr., 87, of West Hartford, beloved husband of 61 years to Ann (Schiffert) Turley, passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017. Born in Hartford, son of the late John and Catherine (Manion) Turley, he lived in West Hartford for 75 years. Bill served proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the attack transport U.S.S. Montague. He retired from the West Hartford Fire Department with the rank of Captain. Bill was a communicant of the Church of St. Helena, West Hartford and a member of the American Legion. He loved Sunday drives and spending time with his family at the beach. Besides his wife, Bill leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. William A. Jr., and Catherine Turley of West Hartford; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Ted Molski of Middletown; four grandchildren, Catherine Basu, Lynn Jordan, Kelly Molski and Joseph Molski; two great-grandchildren, Heidi and Ava Jordan and several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by two brothers and a sister, Bernard F. Turley, John A. Turley and Kathleen T. Bloom. Funeral procession will be Wednesday, (May 31), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 am in the Church of St. Helena, Echo Lane, West Hartford. Burial with military honors will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Calling hours are Tuesday, (May 30), from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
