A good man left this earth today, June 16, 2017. David Gabriele, 61, leaves his wife Barbara, daughter Blair, son Peter and wife to be Lianne, brother Peter and wife Cindy, along with many well loved nephews and cousins. David leaves many many friends, for he was a man who hung on to them all. Charter Oak friends, Football friends, Conard, Wrestling, Coaching, Neighbors, DPW - he treasured them all. Dave loved...his wife, his children, hearing a good joke (while telling them mostly) the NY Giants, the Tav, cooking for others, woodworking, golf (kinda), black sambuca, fixing things, Thanksgiving, helping strangers, his lawn, red wine and telling a good story. He would typically go to the store for one item, return an hour later with a big smile on his face..."Guess who I ran into?" He found complete joy in catching up with old friends, reminiscing past escapades as well as chatting up with complete strangers. He was a man loved by all and will be very missed by many. Calling hours will be Wednesday, (June 21), from 4 to 7 pm at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, (June 22), 11:00 am at The Universalist Church of West Hartford, 433 Fern St, West Hartford.
