Robert Charles Huck “Bob”, 86, of West Hartford passed away Sunday evening peacefully in his home with his loving wife of 63 years, Lois N. Huck, by his side. Bob was born in New Britain and lived there with his mother, Nell (Zablocki) Smith and father, Charles Smith. Bob moved to the Elmwood section of West Hartford with his family at 10 years of age which became his permanent home. Bob and Lois met in 1948, were married in 1954, and raised 4 children. Bob was a Corporal in the Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean Conflict. Returning home, Bob worked for Dunham Bush as a Design Draftsman, retiring after 34 years. Bob’s hobbies included music, dancing, and being an overall do-it-yourselfer. Bob was predeceased by his mother, father, and brother, Ralph Smith. He is survived by his wife, Lois, their children and spouses; Virginia and Jon King of Newington, Robert Huck of West Hartford, Lawrence and Sally Huck of Old Lyme, and Barbara and David Hyun of Avon. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Alyson King, Olivia and Amanda Hyun, and Lauren Huck. Funeral Services and celebration of life will be held at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave, West Hartford. Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 28 from 5pm to 8pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home Thursday, June 29, at 10am with burial immediately following at Fairview Cemetery in West Hartford.
