Obituary for John Vincenzo

John Vincenzo, 81, passed peacefully Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband to his surviving wife Carolyn Vincenzo and was a resident of Farmington. He is the son of Pasquale Vincenzo and Maria Rosa Dainotto who immigrated from Italy. John was teacher at Martin Kellogg Middle School in Newington, for 30 years and after his retirement, he tutored at Bristol and Plainville High schools. He enjoyed cooking for his family and was generous to the community. He is survived by his four children including Anita McKinley (husband Michael), Cynthia Gay (husband Bill), Diana Vincenzo and Keith Vincenzo (wife Aline); and his sister Theresa Vincenzo. His was predeceased by his sisters, Rosa Vincenzo, Jeanette Chiarizia and Elena Vincenzo. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and a great grandchild. Calling hours will be at the Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford on Thursday, (July 13), from 4 - 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, ( July 14) at First Church of Christ, 75 Main St., Farmington, at 11:00 AM with a reception following. Burial will be private in Riverside Cemetery, Farmington. Memorial contributions may made to Doctors Without Borders USA, P.O. Box 5030, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5030.
