Obituary for Jonathan J. "Jos" Stent

Jonathan J. "Jos" Stent
Jonathan J. Stent, “Jos”, 54, of New Haven, CT passed away suddenly at home on August 30, 2017. Continually faced with many challenges since birth, Jonathan defied all odds and lived a long, remarkable life. While the Stent family lost the brightest light in their lives, the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, UConn Women’s Hoops, and Hartford Whalers lost one of their biggest fans.
In 1987, Jonathan joined the Chapel Haven community. Their undying dedication, love, and patience enabled him to live a fulfilled, independent life. He was so proud to have received his award for 30+ years of independent living from Chapel Haven this past April. We will be forever grateful to them.
Jonathan was predeceased by his beloved parents, Barbara A. Stent and Dr. Philip A. Stent.
He is survived by his loving family including siblings: Belinda Campbell (William) of Weymouth, MA; Gregory Stent (Marillyn) of Granby, CT; Geoffrey Stent (Maxine) of Brattleboro, VT; Jennifer Sullivan (John) of Glastonbury, CT; and Matthew Stent (Jeffrey Rick) of Charlotte, NC; his nieces and nephews Scott Campbell, Haley Sullivan, Maribeth Stent, Jack Stent, Olivia Stent, Caroline Stent; his devoted step mother, Linda C. Stent, and by many cousins including the Resniskys and the Stents, all of whom he loved deeply.
The Stent family would like to extend their deepest thanks to Lynn Tobin, Mark LaMadeleine, Sunny Richards, Jon’s nurses (Ty, Sharmont, Pam) from Family Care, his aides, and his many dear friends from Chapel Haven. There are so many people who enriched his life by their friendship and love. We are eternally grateful.
Donations may be made to: Chapel Haven, Inc. 1040 Whalley Ave., New Haven, CT 06515.
