The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Maria Carvalho can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Obituary for Maria Carvalho

Maria  Carvalho
Maria Dos Anjos Vieira Justo/Carvalho, 91, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 23, 2017. She was born on December 4, 1925 in Covão da Carvalha, Mira de Aire, Portugal to Manuel F. Justo and Maria dos Anjos Vieira and resided in Portugal where she married the late José P. Carvalho. In 1973 they started a new life in Hartford, CT, and moved to Windsor, CT in 1976 where she resided until present.
Maria was the devoted mother of 3 sons and 2 daughters: Luiz and wife Jane Carvalho and Jose and wife Natalia Carvalho both of Colchester, Alvaro and wife Lurdes Carvalho and Carminda and husband Julio Vieira both of Windsor, and Arlete and husband Adelino Vieira of São Paulo, Brazil.
She had eight grandchildren: Crista, Eric (deceased), Malissa, Fabio, Carlos and wife Evelyn, Paulo and wife Gina, Nelson and wife Danielle, Lisa and Eric.
She had four great grandchildren: Morgan, Eric, Paulinho and Lucas.
She was a kind, giving and caring person who loved her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Besides her husband and parents she is predeceased by her brother Luis and sister Carminda of Portugal.
We would like to give a special thanks to the Saint Francis Hospital 8-1 staff for their loving care.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 26 from 9 to 10:30am at Sheehan-Hilborn-Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Marlboro Cemetery on Rt. 66 in Marlborough, CT.
