Arminda A. Sousa
Arminda A. Sousa, 85, of Newington, beloved wife of the late Jose Maria Braga, died Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, she came to Hartford 31 years ago. Prior to her retirement she was employed at the Aetna Ins. Co., and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Arminda is survived by her children, Joe Braga, Joao Braga, Antero Braga, Tiberio Braga, Judite Magalhaes, Francisco Braga, Antonio Braga, Miguel Braga and Marta Braga. She also leaves a brother Jose do Carmo Sousa; a sister, Evelina Silva both of Canada; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, David Braga; a daughter, Ludovina Braga and a sister, Maria de Jesus Medeiros.
Funeral procession will be Saturday, (Sept.30), 10:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian 11:00 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Entombment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hour will be prior to the Mass from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
