Obituary for Celine Anita Turley (Soucy)
Celine Anita (Soucy) Turley, 92 of West Hartford, formerly of Wethersfield, beloved wife of 60 years of the late John A. Turley, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Celine was born in St. Anne de Beaupre, Madawaska, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Guillaume "Willie" F. and Clara -Marie (Cyr) Soucy and resided in Wethersfield for 41 years, retiring back to West Hartford in 2008 and then onto Newington in 2016. She was employed by Hartford Hospital for many years as a labor and delivery/maternity nurse, Celine continued her love of children through both work and her personal life and was a "Mom" to all. Celine's greatest joy came from sharing time with family and friends. Her gift to all of us was her optimistic outlook and compassion.
Celine is survived by two sons and daughters -in -law, John "Jack" and his wife of Susan of Wethersfield and Mark and his wife Sheila of Dennisport, MA; her daughter Michele Confessore of West Hartford; her grandchildren, Brett Turley of Los Angeles, CA, Lauren Turley of New York, NY, Caitlyn Confessore of Fairfield and Gregory Confessore of West Hartford and her brother, Claude Soucy of West Hartford. She was held dear by extended family and many special friends-- notedly, the family of Drs. Neville and Tracy Graham and their children Neville, Maura, Patrick, Brennan, Deirdre and her husband Shane Kennedy.
She was also predeceased by her brothers, Conde and Ludger"Jerry"; her sisters, Leanne Soucy, Ena Bernard, Yvette Retano; son-in-law, Timothy Confessore and many cousins. The family wishes to thank the staff at Cedar Mountain Commons and Jefferson House for their loving and caring support of Celine - special love and thanks go to Marie Pean, Monette Lim and Yomayra Morales.
Funeral procession will be Friday, (November 17), 10:30 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am in St. Peter Claver Church, 47 Pleasant St., West Hartford. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Visitation will be prior to the funeral procession from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the funeral home.
