Obituary for Raymond M. Perleoni

Raymond M. Perleoni, age 88, of West Hartford passed away peacefully on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Hughes Health and Rehabilitation. Raymond was born In Windsor Locks, CT on August 13, 1929 and was a resident of Hartford and West Hartford for most of his life. Raymond was predeceased by his wife, the love of his life, Flora E. Perleoni. He was the son of the late William and Emilia (Olivi) Perleoni, and he was predeceased by his loving sisters, Mary Botticello and Hilda Perleoni, his sister-in-law Elaine Perleoni, and his brother-in-law Harry Botticello. Raymond proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Raymond will be remembered for his strong faith and love of family and friends. He had a zest for life, laughter, golfing, casino trips, making his special Italian Crescia Easter bread with family and friends, and enjoying a hearty Italian dinner. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a plumber at The Institute of Living and at James O’Toole Plumbing Co. He is survived by his brothers, Louis Perleoni and his wife Betty Ann of East Hartford, CT and Edmund Perleoni of Suffield, CT; step-daughters, Linda Havunen and her husband David of Marlborough, CT and Bette Violette of Wethersfield, CT; grandson, William Varney and his children, Heather and Roger of Denver, CO; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Elzbieta Lazicki and to the entire staff at Hughes Health and Rehabilitation in West Hartford, CT for their outstanding care and compassion. Raymond’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service, 11:00 a.m. at Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, CT. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Raymond’s name may be sent to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 16 Greenwood Street, Hartford, CT 06106 or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
