Obituary for Francis M. "Frank" Leva

Francis M. "Frank" Leva died peacefully on April 27th in Farmington, at the age of 92 just short of his 93rd birthday. Frank is survived by his children, James Leva of Madison, and Diana Gagne of West Hartford; grandchildren James Leva and his wife Chantal of Little Falls, New Jersey and Stephanie Gagne of Avon. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy Aloisi Leva of Farmington and grandson Joseph Gagne, of West Hartford.
Frank was born on May 2, 1925, in Pieve del Cairo, Italy to Giovanna and Domenico Leva. He immigrated to the United States in 1929. He grew up in Hartford and graduated from Buckley High School. He was a proud US Navy Veteran that served in WW2. In 1945, Frank married the love of his life, Dottie. After moving to West Hartford, he enjoyed working as a builder and spending time with his family. He was employed as a machinist at Pratt and Whitney East Hartford until his retirement in 1987. Frank is remembered by his loved ones as a funny, hardworking, and kind man. He loved to share a story and tell a good joke during a card game after dinner. Frank always felt lucky to be around his loved ones and truly enjoyed life.
A mass will be held on Saturday, May, 5th at 10:00 am at Saint Brigid Church in West Hartford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the CT Humane Society. Frank would also like to thank his wonderful caregivers Tara, Alesia, and Janet for their compassion and care the last few months of his life.
