Obituary for Barbara DiCocco (Cultrera)

Barbara (Cultrera) DiCocco, 77, of Avon, formerly of West Hartford, beloved wife of Samuel M. DiCocco passed away on Monday, May 21, 2018.
Born in Hartford, daughter of the late Santo and Isabel (Pinto) Cultrera, she lived in West Hartford for 50 years, prior to moving to Avon and enjoyed her summers at Great Hammock Beach in Old Saybrook. Barbara and her husband Sam were the proud owners of DePasquale Bakery on Franklin Avenue in Hartford for many years. They later went on to run two successful catering businesses, The Pub, located at the University of St. Joseph and the Snack Bar at the University of CT, West Hartford. Barbara was also employed as the Director of Social Work at the West Hartford Health and Rehabilitation after receiving her Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Connecticut.
Besides her husband, she leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Gloria DiCocco of Hopewell Junction, NY; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cheryl and John Pytel of West Hartford, Beth and Arnaldo J. Sierra of Hartford and Lynn and David DiNanno of Wilton and her mother-in-law, Marianna DiCocco of Wethersfield. She also leaves, 12 grandchildren, Matt, Nick and Sarah Markese, Desmond, Carlos, Savanna and Myles Sierra, Jack, Dean and Isabel DiNanno and Sophia and Abbey DiCocco and a niece, Kimberly Arcari of Newington
She was predeceased by a brother, Carl J. Cultrera.
Funeral procession will be Friday, (May 25), 9:00 am from the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St Patrick- St Anthony Church, 285 Church Street Hartford. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours are Thursday, (May 24) from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
