Obituary for Carlos Silva Santiago
Carlos Silva Santiago, 88, of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Esmeralda Goncalves, passed away, Sunday, June 17, 2018.
Born in Vale Maior, Albergaria-A-Velha, Portugal, Carlos had lived in Portugal and Brazil before coming to the United States in the early 1980's. He enjoyed carpentry and making homemade wine from his own grapevines.
He is survived by a step-son, Jose C. Goncalves of Hartford; a step- daughter and son-in-law, Clotilde and Jose Oliveira of Farmington; two grandchildren, Cristina Johnson and Joe Goncalves; three great-grandchildren, Wesley Goncalves, Troy Johnson and Audrina Johnson; a nephew, Rev. Michael Santiago of North Haven and many nieces and nephews in Rhode Island and Portugal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, (June 19), 10:00 at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Everyone is requested to meet at the Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. There are no calling hours.
