Obituary for Theresa J. Vincenzo

Theresa J. Vincenzo, 88, of 456 South Quaker Lane, West Hartford, daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria Vincenzo, died peacefully at Hartford Hospital on Monday, July 9, 2018. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Rosa, Jeannette, Elena and her brother, John. She was born on March 17, 1930 and lived most of her life in West Hartford. She was a retired teacher who spent her career in the East Hartford School District. She was an English teacher and a reading consultant. Theresa served for 2 years as an English teacher for the Army stationed in Germany. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist parish where she was an active participant and Eucharistic minister. She was a world traveler and an expert on the life and history of Charles Dickens. She is survived by seven nieces and a nephew; ten grand nieces and nephews; four great-grand nephews and her sister-in-law, Carolyn Vincenzo.
Theresa will be remembered at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Ave., West Hartford visitation on Thursday, (July 12), from 4 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, (July 13), at 10:30 am at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 467 South Quaker Lane , West Hartford. Burial will be in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Help Net Foundation (childrenshelpnetfoundation.org) which supports the orphanage from which 2 of her grandnephew were adopted or Reading for the Blind.
