The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Ellis can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

How we met in Indiana

In 1967 I was completeing my Masters at BSU in Indiiana .  I had some 25 interviews and already had a few jpb offers and was not going to the last one for West Hartford.  My girlf friend said to go because it would be rude not to.  I walked in to te office where Jim was and was completely overwhelmed by this wonderful man who was looking for a teacher for his own school.  I was so impressed that I was now confused where to go and start my teaching adventure.  Two weeks later I received a phone call from Mr. Ellis who was back in West Hartford.  He wanted to fly me out and back to Indiana to see the school.  I could not go, but I knew that is where i was going.  After my first year at KP I had an evaluation with Jim.  He was so positive that I floated out the door.  He made me who I became and will never forget him.  Ron Savino
